What a calamity! On Sunday, May 29/5 unidentified assailants shot and killed popular Punjabi musician Sidhu Moose Wala in Jawaharke village, Mansa district. It came as a shock to everyone who knew Sidhu, especially those in the Punjab music industry.
Two other persons were hurt in the shooting, according to the latest reports. The Punjab administration, led by Bhagwant Mann, had just withdrawn the security of 424 persons, including Moosewala, the day before.
When Moose Wala and his two pals were on their way to the village of Mansa in Punjab, they were brutally attacked.
Sidhu Moose Wala, a Punjabi singer and Congress leader, was assassinated.
For those who are unfamiliar with Sidhu Moose Wala, here is some background information about the legendary vocalist. Sidhu was born on June 17, 1993, and his real name is Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, but he is better known to the globe as Sidhu Moose Wala, a musician.
Moose was well-known for his rap and had a large fan base. Being in the rap industry without getting involved in any sort of controversy isn’t a good sign. As a result, Moose established the custom and is now one of the most divisive Punjabi singers.
He was openly supporting gun culture, singing songs that glorified gangsters. ‘Jatti Jeonay Morh Di Bandook Wargi,’ one of his songs, was published in September 2019. He was also accused of casting a negative light on Sikh warriors. However, he later apologised.
Sidhu Moose Wala ran for the Punjab Assembly in 2022 from Mansa on a Congress ticket earlier this year. Despite this, he was beaten by AAP candidate Vijay Singla by 63,000 votes. However, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently fired Vijay amid allegations of corruption.
“Deeply shocked at the broad daylight murder of Sidhu Moose Wala,” Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted after the Punjabi singer’s death. Punjab and Punjabis all over the world have lost a gifted artist with broad appeal and the ability to sense people’s pulses. My sincere sympathies to his family and admirers around the world.”
“@ArvindKejriwal & @BhagwantMann Govt just assassinated Congress leader famous Punjabi Singer Sidhu moose wall,” Roshan Lal Bittu posted. Was that part of the same effort to take away Moosewala’s security?”
Following the event, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa requested that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann be charged with “negligence of chief ministerial duty.”
“We have been advising the Punjab government to pay attention to the situation in Punjab. I demand that Bhagwant Mann be charged with murder for failing to perform his Chief Ministerial duties, which resulted in the death of Sidhu Moosewala. Manjinder Singh Sirsa believes Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal should be arrested.
Death occurs without notice, no matter how renowned you are. Senzo Meyiwa, a South African goalkeeper, was killed in 2014 while protecting his lover.
